Just passing through and needed a quick bite. Service was friendly and fast. Zero wait time during the lunch hour even. Ordered a cheeseburger and suzie Q's. Absolutely delicious!

Yum and nostalgic is what comes to mind after visiting this restaurant. While in Ft. Scott my husband and I looked up places to eat at for dinner, and located this place with well deserved good reviews. We saw plenty of country fried pork steak images and some fried okra and both me and my husband decided to chose that. Our plate came with good smashed potatoes and gravy, and the nicest surprise was that the waitress brought us our own loaf of bread. Can't beat that! The restaurant appears like a side-road old restaurant, and while I am sure it's old and quaint, it just took me back to the 70s being a kid and eating at those bucolic small town restaurants during some road trip. While inside we noticed they had the TV on with an old show of Gunsmoke playing? It was really like a time warp. The service was good too, as we didn't have to wait long for our food either.

Had the Chicken Fried Steak (which is made with pork tenderloin not cube steak), mashed potatoes and fried okra. All homemade and delicious! They were very busy on this Wednesday night but staff was hustling and ultra friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend if you're in Fort Scott.

Friendly people. Good food. Wish they would get new small cutting boards for bread. They are cut up and look dirty.

Excellent lunch for our party of 5. One person had the chicken fried steak with okra and mashed potatoes, everyone else had the lunch special, a fried chicken sandwich with Swiss cheese, 2big strips of bacon, and BBQ sauce. VERY generous servings of everything. Sandwich was huge- I didn't even bother with dinner. I had tots as a side and the only issue was keeping them on the fork to dunk, so just hand dunk 'em. My wife enjoyed her potato salad. We don't get to Fort Scott often but would definitely go back.

I like this small restaurant on the US 54 (Wall Street) in the East side of Fort Scott. I have tried the Hamburgers and fried Chicken and all the side's I have tried have been delicious as well. The waitresses are very good and efficient. Must try if you are in the area.
